This exhibition has been selected thematically, the theme being reflected in the title: A Time of Demons. Most of the work is new although some of the paintings were started more than a decade ago and only recently completed.
The idea which unites all the paintings is the impulse to make a monument out of a moment in time, each moment containing a multitude of elements; aspects of the past and present; different cultures; different landscapes. These elements meet and glide through little chunks of our time; how they act on and against each other is the subject of the paintings.
